The Living Rainforest of Tanzania

Rising from the plains of southern Tanzania, Udzungwa Mountains National Park is a sanctuary of waterfalls, forests, and rare wildlife. Covering 1,990 km², this park forms part of the Eastern Arc Mountains, a biodiversity hotspot often called “Africa’s Galápagos” for its remarkable number of endemic species.

Udzungwa is home to primates found nowhere else on Earth, including the Udzungwa red colobus and Sanje mangabey, along with elephants, bushbucks, and hundreds of butterfly and bird species.
